Hope Partnership appoints Shernell Edney as Minister of Educational Services

INDIANAPOLIS, May 1, 2015 — Hope Partnership for Missional Transformation announces that Shernell Edney will join the ministry as Minister of Educational Services, effective May 4. Edney is an ordained minister with an extensive background in education, ecumenical relations, and corporate communications.

She previously served as program associate for global advocacy and education for the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) Division of Overseas Ministries and Global Ministries.

As Minister of Educational Services, Edney will be responsible for creating and implementing all educational resources for Hope Partnership, including the Leadership Academy, Ambassadors Academy, and webinar and distance learning opportunities. She will also coordinate event promotion, registration and implementation for Hope Partnership, manage Hope Partnership’s ministry planning and congregational future discernment services, and serve as the liaison to the ministry’s marketing department for social and print media.

Edney is originally from Chesapeake, Va. She has a Bachelor of Science degree from Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pa. and a Master of Divinity from Virginia Union University in Richmond, Va. In addition to her past position at Global Ministries, Edney has served as an associate minister for First Congregational Christian Church in Chesterfield, Va., a hospital and hospice chaplain and an adjunct professor. She currently resides in Indianapolis, Ind.

Hope Partnership for Missional Transformation of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) is a network of ministries, Regions, organizations, congregations, ecumenical and educational institutions, and clergy, who equip and nurture courageous leaders as they guide their congregations through transformation to ministry and mission.
