Disciples ministries attend Global Leadership Summit

2016 Global Leadership SummitLeaders from Hope Partnership for Missional Transformation and Disciples Church Extension Fund (DCEF) will be among the nearly 300,000 Christian Leaders attending the Global Leadership Summit on August 11-12, 2016.

The annual event is broadcasted from Willow Creek Community Church, near Chicago to 875 “host sites” around the country. Hope Partnership and DCEF will experience the conference at Grace Christian Church in Noblesville, Ind., one of those host sites.

As a group, this will be Hope Partnership’s and DCEF’s first year in attendance.  Ellen L. Mitchell, Church Extension Resources vice president, attended the event last year and described it as “life-changing!” She went on to express,

“To be with the thousands of participants focused on how good leaders could change the world was profound.”

Mitchell was inspired to extend an invitation to individuals of Church Extension Resources after reflecting on a quote by Bill Hybels, Founder and Senior Pastor of Willow Creek Community Church and event host.

“Leadership is about moving people and the cause to a better place,” he says.

Mitchell says she is proud of her colleagues, who are seeking to grow their leadership skills in order to serve congregations in new and engaging ways.

Returning attendees agree that the event, which taps the knowledge of internationally recognized leadership and business management experts, has long-lasting personal and professional influence.

“I’m a life-long learner so I am looking forward to the experience,” says Rick Morse, vice president of Hope Partnership.

The Global Leadership Summit will feature as presenters Bill Hybels, senior pastor of Willow Creek Community Church and summit founder; Melinda Gates, co-chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation; Alan Mulally, former president and chairman of The Ford Motor Co.; Bishop T.D. Jakes, founder and senior pastor of The Potter’s House; Horst Schulze, CEO of Capella Hotel Group and founding president of The Ritz-Carlton Group; Wilfredo De Jesus, author and senior pastor of New Life Covenant Church; Erin Meyer, author, consultant and professor at INSEAD; Dr. Travis Bradberry, author and co-founder of TalentSmart; Patrick Lencioni, author and founder of The Table Group; Chris McChesney, author and executive at Franklin Covey; Danielle Strickland, Salvation Army officer, advocate and author; Jossy Chacko, founder and president of Empart; and John C.
