New Church Ministry

New Church Ministry (NCM) is a ministry of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) that trains, equips, assists and multiplies emerging and affiliating congregations and leaders. Our heritage is rooted in the New Church Movement.

TrainLeadership Academy

Start. Sustain. Soar.

Leadership Academy is an interactive learning experience that brings together Disciples from across North America to share leadership experience, wisdom, and training.

Save the date! Leadership Academy is returning to Indianapolis, IN from October 7 to 11, 2019.

Equip

Why only do new or better when you can be both? New Church Hacks is a new webinar series packed with smart solutions to tricky problems and practical prompts for new and/or renewing churches. Hosted by Pastor Terrell McTyer, Minister of New Church Strategies, New Church Hacks empowers courageous leaders with the tools, tips and how-tos to start, sustain and strengthen congregations.

Assist

Resources

Thanks to generous donors, the Holy Places Fund helps new Disciples congregations acquire a home. Disciples Church Extension Fund now awards Holy Places Grants for the acquisition of an initial long-term Place. The Fund will consider requests from Disciples congregations who understand Place to mean ownership of real property or whose ministry provides for Place in other ways.

The Spiritual Discernment Guide, a 30-day journey of self-reflection and listening to God’s voice, helps you to discern if you are called to plant a new church. The activities we offer will help you “see” what God is doing and “hear” what God is saying to you.

Multiply

The Pentecost Offering supports the New Church movement and makes it possible for the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) to recruit, assess, train and coach new church planters. 50% of the Pentecost Offering collected stays in the respective Region, and 50% goes to Hope Partnership to support New Church Ministry.
